Pillow Of Comfort

The ancient tradition of burning chinese paper money dates back to thousand of years. The offerings are made to the spirits of the deceased and according to the traditions, they will be ‘transferred’ to the afterworld. Over the years, these paper money has evolved into paper replicas of everyday items like clothing, mobile phones and cars. During funerals and major Chinese holidays when ancestors are remembered, large quantity of paper items were burned, living behind a trail of ashes and smoke on the streets.

Pillow of Comfort is the collection of these ashes, giving them a purpose again. Packed in a large soft material, this large-scale pillow allows people to interact with it happily and relax. The experience will help them understand the minds of those who still practise the ancient tradition.
